Lots of Rocks and 2 Hills to Climb
DISTANCE: 6 miles or so
PHOTOS: http://mtrexmore.blogspot.com/
DIFFICULTY: medium; included rock scrambling and climbing a rocky hillside
LOCATION: go WEST OF Topanga CANYON on Lassen Street for 1 mile
until it ends at Oakwood Cemetery and turn left on Andora Avenue. To the
left of the cemetery entrance is the trailhead. We then go to the
labyrinth rock, climb around a bit, then climb the waterfall trail up to
Lilac lane, then climb up to Mt Rexmore/the north 2 peaks of Chatsworth
Peak (900 feet elevation gain from where we park), then drop down (600
feet) to Lilac Lane at Santa Susana Pass Road, and walk south up Lilac
lane back to the Stagecoach trail and go down to the starting spot.
Liability Waiver must be signed by all participants who go on
this hike, as Mt. Rexmore is private property which we use with
permission

Monkeying around, definition (Rex's dictionary): hiking plus assorted tomfoolery involving cool boulders and caves, providing a workout for both legs and arms, while our hike leader plays guitar and attempts to "sing" your favorite songs
